Last weekend I snuck away for a long weekend in Copenhagen, with Giordie and a friend of hers from Australia! Copenhagen is one of my favourite cities and this was my third trip back. You can read all about my first visit to this beautiful city here. I love the contrast of old and new in Copenhagen. The new, modern architecture, although so different from the original buildings, seems to blend in seamlessly. If you’ve read some of my previous posts you’ll know that I love street art. Especially when it’s incorporated into older areas. Copenhagen has embraced street art and uses it to make the construction around the city come to life. When life gets really busy, I like to take some time out to relax and unwind. This weekend we snuck out to the Archipelago to do just that. We chose Vaxholm for our little weekend getaway as it’s only 45 minutes from Stockholm.
It’s Höstlov here in Sweden this week, which is the Autumn break for schools. Whilst most people I know are heading out of Stockholm to warmer destinations, I’ve really been enjoying Autumn here in town and it’s had me reminiscing about what we were doing this time last year….
At the end of July last year we decided to get away for a weekend. One of the perks of living in Europe now is that we can easily go overseas for the weekend! I was so excited that in the same time as a flight from Melbourne to Sydney (just over an hour) I could fly from Stockholm to Copenhagen.
