Book Review: The Beau & the Belle by R.S. Grey

I stumbled across R.S. Grey aka authorrsgrey on Instagram nearly a year ago and I love her! She has such a fun Instagram account and a great sense of humour. Until recently though, I had not read any of her books. Then, a few weeks back I was watching one of her Insta stories and saw that she was taking applications for ARC’s (Advanced Reading Copies) for her new book The Beau & The Belle. I’d never tried anything like that before, but I was so excited to read her new book that I instantly signed up. And I was lucky enough to receive an E-ARC!! Keep reading to find out more about The Beau & The Belle, and what I thought of my first R.S. Grey book 🙂 Continue reading “Book Review: The Beau & the Belle by R.S. Grey”

Book Review: The Little Shop of Happy Ever After by Jenny Colgan

The Little Shop of Happy Ever After turned out to be such a happy little surprise! From the beautiful cover to the great introduction to the story itself, this book just made me really happy. Before this, I’d never read anything by Jenny Colgan, so I didn’t know what to expect. I bought this book purely based on the back cover. It promised to be a cosy and lighthearted read about a bookworm with big dreams. Which was exactly what I was looking for at the time. Now, Jenny Colgan is one of my favourite authors and I find myself thinking about her books and searching for them at every bookstore I visit. Most locals escape to their summer houses and many of the businesses, shops and restaurants close. Including the local library. So before that happens I popped by to pick up a stack of books for my summer reading.  Continue reading “My Summer Reading List 2017 – Some Oldies from the Library”

Book Review: Us by David Nicholls

If you’re anything like me, you love Sunday mornings. My favourite ones are slow and quiet and relaxing. I like to start with a coffee and then take a stroll with the puppy. No rushing allowed on Sunday mornings around here! Then I like to head back to the couch with another cuppa and a good book. I try not to sleep in on Sundays so that I can get the most out of the relaxing day.  Continue reading “Book Review: Us by David Nicholls”

Book Review: Landline by Rainbow Rowell

I like to read books that make me feel good. That doesn’t necessarily mean that the book itself has to have a happy, feel good story. In fact, usually for me it’s the opposite. It just means that I need to find it enjoyable. I’m not particularly worried if a book is well written or isn’t, I’m more concerned about whether I’m engaged in the story.
