YOGA BY NOWJESS

Yoga has been an important part of my life for over 15 years. Over that time I’ve found myself gravitating towards various styles and realising that at different times I need different forms of yoga. For me, being on my mat is the one place where I feel truly myself. It grounds me and makes me feel whole. Whether it be 5 minutes or 90 minutes, I feel calm, and content, and have more perspective afterwards. Practicing to me feels like coming home. More and more over the years, I’ve learnt about the other aspects of yoga, not just the physical asana. I’ve been able to take yoga off the mat and into every aspect of my life. After understanding how powerful that was for me, I realised that I wanted to share my love for yoga with others and help them see the same benefits I did.

So, in September 2018, I completed my 200-hour qualification with the incredible Charlie Stewart-Brown of Indiv Yoga and I’m registered with Yoga Alliance. I have a background in massage therapy and a strong focus on physical alignment. For me, it’s all about balance and I wholeheartedly believe that the spiritual aspect of yoga has immensely helped me to navigate life. Thus, I bring a holistic approach to my teaching for every individual who wants to find balance and feel the benefits of yoga, physically, mentally, and spiritually. I teach Hatha, Vinyasa, and Restorative Yoga, and incorporate meditation, breathwork, and mindfulness into every session. My classes are always a mix of playfulness, compassion, and strength-building to help us find a sense of balance and calm in our busy lives. You can read more about my personal yoga journey here.

EDUCATION

Since completing my first 200hr YTT (Indiv Yoga with Charlier Stewart-Brown), I have begun the journey towards my 300hr YTT with Michael James Wong at Krama Yoga. I began that training in August 2020 and will complete my last 50 hours by the end of 2023. This March I will also complete 100hr Breathwork and Meditation Teacher Training with Michael James Wong at Just Breathe. However, I know that this is just the beginning and I will be continuing to learn, both from other teachers, my students and from my own personal practice for a long, long time to come.
